I started chemo again. This time an oral one instead of the IV type I'd had last summer (they'd installed a port up near my collarbone where everything was pumped in). The 1 oral one had horrible side effects. I got sores in my mouth and throat to the point that I couldn't eat or take any of my meds. Chunks of skin started coming off my feet and parts of my hands. That's when they said "Gee, maybe we should try something different". The one I'm on now just makes me exhausted all the time. That may sound pretty bad, but compared to last summer and the 1st one this summer - I'll take it w/out bitching too much. Originally (this time around) they said I should be done w/ chemo by this fall...well, it's the end of September and now they are saying it will be - at the earliest - the end of the year. Woo Hoo :{
On the bright side tho... My absolutely hilarious grandson is 3 1/2 and is tons of fun to play with & I now have a grand-daughter. We gave her a teeny tiny baseball glove because I refuse to have any sissy girls in my house!
I'm getting ready to start making Christmas cookies (I make approx. 1,000 each year). Here is a recipe of something new I'm going to try this year:

It looks easy and sounds yummy. Any other suggestions for good & easy, but different Christmas cookies?
I need to go work on my checkbook - yuck - so, I'll be back again soon....

Been away for awhile
I haven't been here for a long time. I looked back at the last post and was hoping that if someone happened to have found this while browsing they would have let me know how they feel. But, that's ok. I'm going to keep going with my venting, happy stuff, etc.! I have been 'advised' to keep a journal of sorts - to write down my thoughts and feelings so that they are just bumping around in my brain making me crazier.
Since the last time I wrote (Oct of 2013) I have found out that I have breast cancer not just once, but twice. Spring of 14 I was told I had it. It was a horrible summer of chemo & then dbl mastectomy that fall. They said things were fine after that. I had one of my normal 'check ups' the next spring. When the Dr. sat down she said "the blood tests look great - looks like everything is gone". After that she did a visual - in 30 seconds my life turned upside down again. Her next comment was "well, I'm pretty sure it's back again".
I will be back later...TV guy is on his way over....
